Isaac enjoyed the food in Roma, with some patience towards culture and history of Roma - he has seen lots of "must visits" like the Colosseo (Colosseum), the Foro Romano (Roman Forum), the Cappella Sistina (Sistine Chapel), the Pantheon, the Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti (Spanish Steps), and the Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain). He loved the specialties of Roma - carbonara and tiramisu, plus gelato!!!
Firenze, centre of renaissance and best known of the cathedral and the works of Michelangelo. The T-bone we had here was probably the best! The hotel offered decent breakfast in a elegantly decorated and culturally-rich dining room.
We will definitely come back here just for the steak and breakfast!
The sinking Venezia - this once influential maritime city-state with powerful navy now has to combat against dwindling local residents, pressure and pollution from over-tourism and damage from cruise ships. Be prepared to walk a lot or take a ride on one of the water transports. It is very pricey to stay a night here, but nighttime presents the tranquil side of the city. There is another hotel offering spectacular breakfast.
Capital of Lombardia - the fertile land Napoleon promised his soldiers and invaded in his early campaign as "Le Petit Caporal", defeating the Habsburg Austria and sowing the seeds for the later Italian unification.
This city also house one of the most renowned work of Leonardo da Vinci - Cenacolo (the Last Supper). There is a strict control on the number and duration of visitors.
The specialty here is risotto and we bought bags of rice for our own recipe.
Isaac asked for trying out his photography
We were so blessed to be invited into the cockpit (the purser asked the pilot for permission after landing). It will become precious memory of little Isaac.
The flight flew over the Alpes on the way back.
